Re: Relocation of Bruker AM-400 and AC-200 Completed

The purpose of this memo is to inform everyone that the relocation of our Bruker AM-400 and AC-200 NMR spectrometers from 4325 SES to 4130 SES has been completed. While there are still a few facets of the relocation to be completed (e.g. networking the spectrometers, moving the manuals and other paperwork, etc.), the spectrometers are now ready to use in their new location.

Thanks to the great efforts of many people, this move was completed in less time than was originally projected. In fact, if there had not been a problem with AGA Gas delivering our liquid helium on time, the move would have been done in two weeks!

Personally, I am very pleased with our new NMR lab, and while it is not roomy I think it is overall a much nicer environment than our previous location. One thing that contributes to this is the fact that both the lab and the equipment have been thoroughly cleaned, and a new display has been installed on the AM-400 which is bright enough for us to have the lab well lit!

Now for the thank-you list:
Mike Govang (of M.R.Resources), for his excellent work on the project;
Pavel Kostikin, for assisting with many facets of the project;
Gene Gerald, for his help with shipping/receiving issues and supplies;
John Costa, for supplying the moving equipment, helping with the move, and providing
impromptu machine work;
Don Rippon, for his help (beyond the call of duty) with preparing the new lab and for providing
the electrical work necessary for the relocation.

Finally, I would like to thank all the students and faculty for their cooperation during this time. I hope you all will have a chance to come by and visit the new NMR Facility.
