UIC Chemistry - NMR Facility
UIC Chemistry NMR / Charges
The NMR Facility currently charges all users an hourly rate for the use of the solution-state
NMR spectrometers. The rates are summarized below. The "Discount Rate" refers to usage
between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. (i.e., overnight) weekdays
and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Instrument Charges
 Bruker AV- & Avance-500  Bruker Avance-400
 For UIC Chemistry Department Users:
 Standard Rate: $5.50/hr  Standard Rate: $4.50/hr
 Discount Rate: $2.75/hr  Discount Rate: $2.25/hr
 For UIC Non-Chemistry Department Users:
 Standard Rate: $11.00/hr  Standard Rate: $9.00/hr
 For Non-UIC Users:
 Service Rate: $20/hr  Service Rate: $20/hr
 Data Acquisition: $20/hr  Data Acquisition: $20/hr 




 Bruker AM-400 Varian 300's


 For UIC Chemistry Department Users:


 Standard Rate: $2.50/hr
 Standard Rate: $2.50/hr


 Discount Rate: $1.25/hr Discount Rate: $1.25/hr


 For UIC Non-Chemistry Department Users:


 Standard Rate: $5.00/hr Standard Rate: $5.00/hr





Instrument charges are totalled and bills are submitted every other month.

NMR Service
 Service is available to Chemistry and to the rest of UIC at a rate of three times the hourly rate.

User Training
User training is free to Chemistry users on the Bruker AM-400 and on the Varians.
Training on the Avance machines is done using the group expert approach (see the main page)
and the training time will be charged at the normal rate.

Training to Non-Chemistry UIC users will be charged at the highest service rate.
