US-Japan REU Program for Summer 2004


We invite you to apply for this year’s competition. Apply as early as possible since we will start to offer positions to exceptional candidates from early January in 2004. The application deadline is Mar 5, 2004.

Please apply only if you are US undergraduate students who has US citizenship/permanent residency and you intend to attend the REU program at UIC in Summer 2004 as well as that at our Japanese partner institutes in Summer 2005. Applicants must not graduate before the REU program ends in Summer 2005. In the following on-line application, you are required to fill in your information and write an essay (within 200-400 words) describing why you would like to participate in the program and what type of research you would like to do in the program. In addition, applicants need to arrange two letters of recommendation and transcript to be sent directly to the address below. Once we receive your application, two recommendation letters, and the transcript, we will send you a confirmation e-mail.
